The possible delay of Spore for another year we reported about yesterday seems to be a simple misunderstanding according to an EA representative. The mid-2008 release stands firm and “Spore’s progressing and it looks great”, reports Next-Gen. Phew!

According to Kotaku, who in turn refers to Game Informer, Spore is yet again delayed, this time perhaps indefinately. EA had the following statement delivered when reached by the rumour; “Spore has slipped out of fiscal 08 and into fiscal 09″. Note that even though ‘fiscal 09′ hints a 2009 release it actually means a time period somewhere in the 2008 range. Hold your breath until it’s been confirmed beyond doubt, but things doesn’t look good. We’ll keep you posted.
