different phases

Spore features seven different stages of development, or phases as they are called. Each one comes with its own characteristics and pre-set rules. Go from the microscopic level of the Tidal Pool to colonizing the universe in the Space Phase.

3D editor

A complex 3D editor comes with the game. It lets you create the most unique creatures with almost endless combinations. Arms, legs, mouths, color, etc; the editor features a plethora of options.

vehicles & vessels

Multiple vehicles can be built, ranging from ground transportation all the way up to flying saucers. As you become more advanced the options expand in what you can build.

custom content

As long as you have an internet connection you can share all your creations with other players. These will be presented in an in-game catalog that lets you chose what creations to insert to the game.

massive singleplayer

Spore introduces a new concept to PC games called massive singleplayer. In essence it means that even though you are not directly playing against a human player you will be able to interact with their creations once you’ve downloaded them.

pollination

Custom content in the game will be controlled by something called pollination. Meaning that the content will be adapted to the user’s playing and graphical style.

sandbox mode

Once you’ve reached the last stage of development the game enters a sandbox mode in which you will be able to interact and mold the universe around you. Terraform planets and influence lower lifeforms while expanding your realm.

millions of stars

The universe around you is almost endless. Millions of stars will be ready for exploration, each with its own planetary system and the possibility of life. You’ll never run out of things to explore.
